Trump says he won’t waste time meeting Putin unless Ukraine peace deal is likely soon – Iran Front Page

“I think it will stick,” Trump told reporters after meeting Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, during a refueling stop in Doha aboard Air Force One while en route to Malaysia.

“Well, if it doesn’t happen, it would be Hamas,” Trump continued. “It won’t be difficult to deal with Hamas very quickly. I hope the same is true for Hamas because they gave us their word on something, so I think it will hold and if it doesn’t, they will have a very big problem.”

Trump later added in a post on Truth Social that the militant group “will have to quickly begin returning the bodies of the deceased hostages, including two Americans, or the other countries involved in this GREAT PEACE will take action.

“Some of the bodies are hard to reach, but others may return now and for some reason they don’t,” he wrote. “Maybe it has to do with their disarmament, but when I said, ‘Both sides will be treated fairly,’ that only applies if they fulfill their obligations. Let’s see what they do in the next 48 hours. I’m following this very closely.”

The president praised the Qataris for their role in providing peacekeeping troops as part of the International Stabilization Force aimed at wresting control of Gaza security from Hamas. Any peacekeeping troops would enter Gaza “when necessary.”

“By the way, Israel will get in there very easily,” Trump said. “You know that, right? You have a country right there. But you have the Arab countries. All of them. Muslims, Arabs, everyone on board. It’s really been an amazing thing. It’s a great success. It will be a lasting peace. Hopefully, an eternal peace.”

Trump said earlier Monday that if Hamas violates the ceasefire, the response “will come very quickly and quite violently; unfortunately, we are going to eradicate Hamas.”

Hamas has not fully committed to disarming and releasing control of Gaza. Releasing control would then allow, as part of the stabilization plan, to form a technocratic government to carry out governance in Gaza.

Vice President Vance, while in Israel on Tuesday to inaugurate the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) overseeing the ceasefire, reiterated the administration’s demands on the US-designated terrorist organization.

“Hamas has to honor the agreement, and if Hamas doesn’t honor it, very bad things will happen,” Vance said.

So far, there is no deadline for Hamas to relinquish power over the Gaza Strip.
