“Hamas will have to quickly begin returning the bodies of the deceased hostages, including two Americans, or the other countries involved in this great peace will take action,” the American leader wrote in Truth Social.

The US president also added that he will watch Hamas’ activities “very closely” over the next 48 hours.

The first phase of a ceasefire went into effect in Gaza on October 10 under Trump’s 20-point plan.

The first phase includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisions the reconstruction of Gaza and the establishment of a new governance mechanism without Hamas.

Since October 2023, the Israeli genocidal war has killed more than 68,500 people and injured more than 170,300, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
