Tourist dies after falling 22 feet in front of his daughter at world-famous monument

A TOURIST plunged to his death in front of his horrified daughter after losing his balance and falling from an iconic monument in Rome.

Japanese citizen Morimasa Hibino, 69, died after falling from the perimeter wall of the Pantheon in the Italian capital, local media reported.

He is believed to have fallen about 22 feet at around 9:50 pm local time.

A passerby priest alerted the police when he saw the man lying in a ditch, according to the local newspaper. the Republic.

Emergency services attended the scene and, together with firefighters, were forced to open a door outside the monument to reach the tourist.

But after treating the man, authorities declared him dead at the scene.
