A “JEALOUS” girl allegedly threw her newborn baby brother out of a 40ft window to his death.
The five-year-old boy is said to have been home alone with the 21-day-old boy when she threw him from the fourth-floor apartment in Vasilyevo, Russia.
Her mother had reportedly left her alone with the baby while her husband was at work.
Passersby heard a little girl screaming from the fourth-floor window and then saw the baby motionless on the ground.
Witnesses said their “knees shook” at the horrific sight.
Paramedics confirmed the death of the 21-day-old young man at the scene after falling to the cement.
“A criminal case has been opened into the baby’s death,” the Russian Investigative Committee reported.
The mother could potentially face jail time.
Investigators are examining whether the five-year-old girl was “jealous” of the new baby, believed to be a boy, and the mother’s motive for leaving her daughters home alone.
A report said she was visiting a friend.
“The actions of the parents who left the children unattended, as well as other possible scenarios, are being investigated.”
A report citing local sources said: “The older girl was upset because there was another child in the apartment and, out of jealousy, she threw the baby out the window.”
The head of Zelenodolsk district, Tatarstan, Mikhail Afanasyev, said: “Law enforcement officers are now investigating the situation.
“I express my deepest condolences. family of the deceased and we urge all parents to be vigilant and never leave their children alone.”
