BRIGITTE Macron was given a male name on the official French tax portal by a team of cruel hackers, according to a senior government official.
The glamorous French First Lady, 72, is locked in a bitter but bizarre legal battle to prove she is a biological woman, as 10 people now face trial for“sexist cyberbullying”.
Mrs Macron, the wife of President Emmanuel Macron, has faced humiliation in Paris after hackers reportedly changed her name to Jean-Michel in the national tax filing system.
A routine audit of Brigitte’s tax reports in September 2024 uncovered the unsightly dig, according to Macron administration head Tristan Bomme.
Bomme said: “Like many French people, Madame Macron logged into her personal account on the tax website.
“You log into the system and see that it doesn’t say Brigitte Macron, but Jean-Michel Macron.”

He added that Brigitte filed an official complaint once the case was discovered.
Fears of a software problem were investigated, but it was soon discovered that it was due to deliberate intervention, according to Bomme.
The section that has been edited is impossible to change without the individual user’s permission, Bomme said.
Two suspects involved in the cyberattack were identified by changing the name in the database.
Now, 10 other people will be tried for similar defamatory accusations against Brigitte.
Eight men and two women will be tried on Monday before the Paris Criminal Court for sexist cyberbullying against Brigitte.
These include an elected official, a gallerist, a professor, a medium, and even a computer scientist.
The defendants, all of whom are between 41 and 60 years old, are accused of making numerous malicious comments about Brigitte regarding her “gender” and “sexuality.”
Brigitte Macron’s legal battles
For years, conspiracy theorists and right-wing personalities have spread vicious rumors online claiming that Brigitte was born a man.
One of the most important is the American expert. Candace Owens.
Last March, Owens said he would “take a gamble.” [her] “all professional reputation” on the claim that Brigitte was born a man.
He even alleged that Brigitte is actually his brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, and that her first husband never existed.
Hurt by the outlandish comments directed at their hundreds of thousands of viewers, both Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron took legal action.
They filed a defamation lawsuit in July and promised to do whatever was necessary to show that Brigitte is and always has been a woman.
But Owens responded by saying he would demand a medical examination as part of any trial.
He announced: “We are going to demand that Brigitte undergo an examination with an independent doctor.
“Let’s go get your medical records.”
Her lawyers have insisted that Owens has the right to say what she believes under free speech laws.
Rumors about Brigitte’s birth sex first took off in France after the far-right magazine Faits et Documents published them in 2021.
Experts reveal dazzling evidence that Brigitte Macron will reveal to prove she is a woman
By Juliana Cruz LimaForeign news reportsr
Dr Emma Hilton, a developmental biologist at the University of Manchester, told The Sun that the First Lady could technically offer at least five types of evidence.
DELIVERY
The strongest evidence, Dr. Hilton said, would be to prove that she has had a child.
“If you see a baby coming out of someone, you’ll say, ‘Yeah, okay, it’s a woman,’” he said.
And the photos of Brigitte Macron pregnant with her three children could be decisive.
HORMONE LEVELS
Doctors may check the levels of sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone), which differ in men and women.
Dr Hilton noted: “It’s something that has been used before in sports categories.
“We use them to check the general sexual health of men and women in adulthood.”
MAKE MALE GENES
Scientists can perform a genetic test to detect the specific gene that triggers male development.
“It’s called the ‘making male’ gene. It’s the only trigger in humans to say you’re going to be a man,” Dr. Hilton said.
And if it is absent, it means that the person is a woman.
CHROMOSOME SCREENING
A simple test could show whether Macron carries a Y chromosome, a marker for the male sex.
This usually means taking a blood sample and looking for the presence of a Y chromosome, which is usually associated with the male sex.
MENSTRUAL HISTORY
Doctors may also review menstrual history, meaning whether someone has ever had menstrual periods, when they started, and how regular they are.
They were later sold to the public by bloggers Natacha Rey and Amandine Roy, who promoted them in a YouTube interview that went viral.
The Macrons sued Rey and Roy for defamation in Paris and won, and the two women received huge fines.
But the couple were later acquitted by the Paris Court of Appeal on freedom of expression grounds.
Brigitte appealed the decision to overturn the court’s verdict.
Amandine, a 51-year-old self-proclaimed whistleblower, has long claimed that Brigitte is a transgender woman who was born Jean-Michel.
They allege that she never gave birth to her three children because of her gender.
President Macron has furiously denied the allegations, calling them “false and fabricated.”
On International Women’s Day she said: “The worst thing is false information and made-up scenarios. People end up believing them.”
