Stiller continued, “But I also understand that there are other arguments about access and all that stuff. My feeling is… if it’s in your blood, if it’s your passion and you grew up around it, for me, I think growing up around it, talking about all these things that I saw with my parents, you, actually as a kid, you see the dark side of it, the stress, the effects it has on relationships. You see it up close as a kid, and then you still want to delve into it.”

He Rupture EP, whose parents are the deceased Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, noted that she landed her first job in the Off-Broadway revival of House of Blue Leaves in 1986 after getting an audition “as a favor” for her mother because she “couldn’t get in because the casting director didn’t want to see me.”

“But I felt like, going into that audition, I knew I had done what I needed to do to get the role,” Stiller explained. “If you have passion, you have to do it. You have to try.”
