
A SUSPECT has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman on a train in Paris, after horrifying images of the alleged attack spread online.
Brazilian national Jhordana Dias, 26, claimed a man slapped, bit and strangled her when she tried to remove his underwear earlier this month.

Police arrested a 26-year-old Egyptian man, who was not carrying identification documents when he was handcuffed, according to local media.
It comes after viral images were shown on social media. the suspect aboard a train car moments after the alleged assault.
In the clip, the suspect is wearing a black tracksuit and a cap, and flees the scene when the train arrives at the next season.
The alleged victim can be heard crying, as the person behind the camera begins to tell the man: “Stay there!”
Moments later, the man begins to approach the camerawoman, who has now been hailed as a hero by the alleged victim, before the train stops and he disembarks.
The accused was arrested on Friday night for transport police in Mantes-la-Jolie, northwest of Paris, local media reported.
The alleged assault took place on October 15 between the Choisy-le-Roi and Villeneuve-le-Roi train stations.
Jhordana told Le Parisien that the man, just after boarding, pushed her and tried to pull down her underwear.
She said: “As the doors slammed shut, the attacker jumped onto the train and then I realized I was alone with him. And that’s when the attacks started.
“He pulled down my pants, strangled me and tried to forcibly kiss me. I didn’t want to kiss him.”
Jhordana’s brother said his sister fought for her life.
She explained that when she tried to fight him, he allegedly strangled her and tried to rape her.
The alleged victim’s brother said she called him right after the ordeal, before he spoke to the heroic camerawoman.
The brother also asked the passerby to stay with his sister and contact the police.
The images also showed Jhordana’s face marked by bruises and cuts.
Her brother also revealed that Jhordana had been in France two months before the alleged attack.
She traveled to the country to escape alleged domestic violence at the hands of an ex-partner.
The ordeal has sparked debates about women’s safety in France.
