The Iaşi County Police Inspectorate said in a statement.: “Following the investigations carried out, it became known that a 54-year-old man from Bistriţa-Năsăud county, while driving a truck with a semi-trailer in the direction of Drăguşeni to Cristeşti, lost control of the vehicle.
“At that time it overturned on the road and collided with a car driven by a 42-year-old man from Suceava County.
“The impact caused the death of the 42-year-old man and the passenger of the car, a 39-year-old man.”
Emergency crews had to Bring several extraction tools to remove the bodies from the rubble, police said.
In total, 13 firefighters, dozens of police officers and ambulance crews were deployed to assist in the tragic accident.
The driver of the truck remarkably survived without suffering any major injuries.
