Nima Kianpour, a former bodybuilding champion and experienced trainer from Iran’s southern province of Khuzestan, died suddenly of a heart attack while training Saturday night, local sports officials said.
Hassan Jalili, Public Relations Director of the Khuzestan Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, confirmed Kianpour’s death and described him as a highly respected and dedicated figure in the province’s bodybuilding community.
“He was one of the most committed and experienced coaches, who dedicated his life to training and mentoring the next generation of athletes,” Jalili said.
Kianpour had earned recognition as both a competitor and a mentor, and his contributions to the sport went beyond personal achievements.
“Without a doubt, the memory and legacy of this hard-working and principled coach will remain immortal in the history of sports in Khuzestan and throughout Iran,” Jalili added.
The bodybuilding and fitness federation, as well as athletes and fans, have expressed their condolences for the loss of Kianpour.
