Time The magazine has released a new cover of its upcoming November 10 issue featuring the president donald trump after the Republican leader harshly criticized the original image used.
The legacy publication released the second edition earlier this week, linked to its article on Trump, who was interviewed about his role in brokering the Gaza-Israel ceasefire deal. While the first image shows the President looking up framed against the sky with the caption “His Trump,” the second shows Trump with his hands clasped under his chin on Hayes’ desk with the caption “Trump’s World.”
Presented on October 14, Trump he felt very offended with the cover photo initially chosen, writing in Truth Social at 1:36 a.m. ET that night: “Time magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the photo may be the worst of all time. They ‘disappeared’ my hair and then had something floating above my head that looked like a floating crown, but extremely small. Really weird! I never liked taking pictures from lower angles, but this is a super bad photo and deserves to be mentioned. “What are they doing and why?”
Trump has a long established relationship with the weekly, as a subject and as a reader. According to the outlet, in December 2024, Trump’s total coverage count exceeds 40, behind only Presidents Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, the record holder. Naturally, this doesn’t include the fake covers that had supposedly been hanging on “at least five of his golf clubs,” which included a line on the cover exclaiming that “Trump is triumphing on all fronts… even on television!” The existence of false coverage, reported by the Washingtonmailled the magazine to ask Trump to remove them. According to a report by The daily beastThe new photo of Trump by Washington, D.C.-based photographer Stephen Voss was inspired by Arnold Newman’s 1963 photograph of German industrialist and convicted Nazi war criminal Alfried Krupp, which was published by news weekalthough Time he vehemently denied it. (The digital outlet also reported that Voss liked comments on Instagram where followers asked about the connection, although he has since apparently deleted his likes.)
“There is no connection and claims suggesting otherwise are completely false,” he said. Time the spokesperson said. “References for this photo shoot were previous presidential portraits in the Oval Office, including TIME’s own covers. Giving weight to speculation on social media is reckless and contributes to the spread of misinformation.”
